Reiki"Reiki" is a gentle and natural balancing method of healing the body's systems. It is a non-intrusive, hands-on healing technique, which utilises life force energy ("chi") channelled by the healer to the receiver. The practitioner will have been attuned to this therapy technique and will have received extensive training in reiki and meditation (to Level 2) by a reiki Master and teacher. Reiki techniques came to the West from Japan and have been continuously practiced there, for many generations, in balancing the body, it's emotions and it's spirit. Reiki also encourages personal and emotional growth and aids in stress reduction. Life force energy is present in everything in our lives and is the reason that we are alive. It flows through our bodies via energy centres known as "chakras". It nourishes the cells and organs of our bodies and if it is disrupted, can cause blockages and disruption, causing symptoms such as stress, anxiety and mental and physical illness. This energy is also responsive to thoughts and feelings and can be disrupted when we harbour negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves. Reiki heals by flowing through the practitioner to the weakest areas of the receiver's energy fields and charges these areas with positive energy. This subsequently increases the vibratory level of the energy field, creating a healthier flow of energy ("chi") through the body. This, in turn, enables the body to function and cope more effectively with the stresses of everyday living. Reiki sessions normally last around 40 minutes. Following treatment, you should feel relaxed and refreshed. More often tnan not, it also induces a good night's sleep! The sessions can be booked as individual sessions, as a block booking, or as part of a hypnotherapy package (between therapy sessions).
